Portmeirion

This colorful collection of buildings with an Italian influence is located on a peaceful peninsula that extends into the estuary. Created by Welsh architect Sir Clough Williams-Ellis, it incorporates bits and pieces from deteriorating stately mansions, resulting in a unique seaside utopia. All the buildings are heritage listed, and the area is a conservation zone where festivals and events are frequently held.
